President Bush Understands Family BudgetsPresident Bush’s jobs and economic growth plan provides much needed relief for America�s families. According to a recent BusinessWeek report women control 85% of all household spending decisions and make 75% of family financial decisions. The President�s plan is real relief for families now:Marriage penalty relief and a $400 increase in the child tax credit go into effect this year, rather than years down the road. Under the plan, 46 million married couples will see their taxes reduced an average of $1,716 this year. On average, 34 million families with children would see their taxes go down $1,473. Six million women with children would see tax relief averaging $541 in 2003.A married couple with two children earning $40,000 will see their federal taxes go down by 96 percent, from $1,178 to just $45.[Learn More]
