This morning at 5am I heard the first bird chirping to welcome in spring. It’s a good time to put out some fresh bird seed and clean out the bird bath.

Also, visit our Stay at Home Mom Store at Stayathomemom.com and pick up some tulip bulbs. Nine years ago we planted some tulip bulbs in our front yard and every spring since then they have popped up on their own.

She never stopped smiling.  Here is a little prayer for a little angel.

As Stay at Home Moms we have never ending to do lists.  Spring is just a few weeks away and it is super important to add Change Batteries in the smoke detectors to our To Do List.  With the tragedy last night in NY it is a reminder just how important it is to have working smoke detectors and a plan in place in case of fire.  Practice your exit plan with your eyes closed and while you are crawling on the floor.  You want to make sure that if you ever need to use your plan that you won’t have to think about it.

About the plan: it is super important to practice this with your kids.  There have been a couple of very sad stories in the past about kids running back into a burning house to save the family pet and then the kids have died in the fire.  The other worst story we heard here was a child that died in a house fire because he couldn’t find his shoes and his mom had told him to never go outside without his shoes on.

So, don’t just add this to your To Do List but actually do it.
