We spotted our first tick yesterday. It wasn’t causing any havoc but it had made its way in the house.

When our kids are little we are in the habit of giving them their bath which always gives us a good chance to give them the once over - checking their armpits, washing their hair etc. But once they get a little older they start becoming more independent and taking their own bath.

So just remember to do a little spot check to make sure there are no little critters making themselves at home on your kid. Last night at the girls night out bonfire someone even mentioned checking for leaches. Leaches? ick. Fortunately, I have not run into that one. But, ticks, lice, and leaches can all latch on so keep an eye on your kid especially after they have been playing outside in long grasses or muddy areas or with other kids - ok so that pretty much check them every time after they go outside.
