You won’t want to miss the 2007 Perseid meteor shower. “It’s going to be a great show,” says Bill Cooke of NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center. “The Moon is new on August 12th–which means no moonlight, dark skies and plenty of meteors.” How many? Cooke estimates one or two Perseids per minute at the shower’s peak.

Reinforcing bad behavior
Filed under: parenting; No CommentsAs Stay at home moms we know that children use tantrums to get our attention. If we reward that behavior by giving them what they want they will continue to use tantrums to get their way. We need to help our kids learn other ways to communicate their needs to us without throwing that tantrum.
So, this morning when I was watching the early morning news the entertainment reporter began reporting on Brittany Spears again. The report covered some silliness - no earth shattering announcements - I didn’t really want to listen to the report so I sort of missed the story. The point is we have to insist that reporters stop reporting everytime a starlet is seen running around hollywood without wearing any underwear or whatever it is she did this time. It is time to stop rewarding bad behavior. All of us moms know exactly what that leads to.
