I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 with most of our extended family living across the US from us. One day when I was trying to think of a way that my family could take an extended vacation and still continue to have some form of income, it dawned on me that I could become a traveling nurse. I have been a RN for 12 years, but been staying home with my kids off and on for the past two. My kids will be off from school in the summer for 3 months, and my husband could take the summer off from work and be a stay-at-home dad. What a great opportunity it will be for him to grow closer to the kids! I plan to contract with a traveling nurse agency to work three 12 hour shifts per week, for a 12 week assignment and make about $14K in one summer! I started a blog about this a few months ago.
