How to see London with your kids Lego Style

Our friend Andy Robertson sent us this report from a recent trip on the London Eye with kids. Every vacation with kids would be soooo much easier if it included a full on set up by Lego. I watched the video loving the scenery of London but also loving the new Lego figures.
One of the things I love about this new series by Lego is that they make great gifts that are easy to ship to cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who may live far away.  These also make great gifts for Easter baskets (the bunny doesn't always have to bring just chocolate). Lego Mixels on London Eye

Earlier this month, the Williams family headed down to the capital for a Lego Mixels launch event at the London Eye where the kids were treated to a ride in one of the passenger capsules and a play session with the latest character building sets from Lego.

 

Lego Mixels are a range of unique characters that belong to one of nine tribes, each with a distinct colour and style to differentiate them. Made from Lego parts they can be combined to create a mix (combining Mixels of different tribes), max (combining Mixels of the same tribe), and murp (when a mix goes horribly wrong).

The kids were guided through a building session with some of the Mixels from the Series 1 tribes, the Infernites (based on the element of fire), Cragsters (based on the element of stone) and Electroids (based on electricity); before getting a chance to check out the accompanying cartoon shorts from Cartoon Network.

Lego Mixels is quite unique as the cartoon shorts and the toys were developed in unison, with both debuting at the same time. Supporting them on the gaming front is the Lego Mixels app, Calling All Mixels, which allows you to play with your Mixels in a virtual environment as you mix, max and murp them together to defend against the evil Nixels.

As you can see from the video, the kids had a great time building their Mixels on the London Eye, although they were a little distracted from the awesome views over London. It's understandable though, as they think Lego have a huge hit on their hands with the Mixels; and at only £3 per character, they're sure to be a hit with parents too!

It almost seems incredible but I have heard people say to me "I just don't have time to read". That is the precise reason a person must read! And for those of you who have caught yourself saying that then make your first book one on time management. YES! We do have time to read. When our kids are very little we must read to them. The more we read to them the more they will grow up loving books.
